How to make habits stick? There is a helpful framework that can make it easier to form and stick to new habits - Habit Loop: Cue-Routine-Reward. A reward is the end goal of every habit. It is something we are craving and should get after we perform a routine which is the actual habit. My exercise habit loop looks like this: cue - morning after breakfast; Routine - exercise; Reward - Decaf coffee latte with almond milk. I am getting that hot cup of coffee only if I am exercising. I want to have that cup every day, that makes me exercise every day. Consistency is critical if you want to make a habit stick. Exercising a couple of times per week will make it harder to form a habit because it's harder to lock in activities you do once every few days as habits. It doesn't mean I lift weights every day, but even on a rest day I do some light exercises or stretching. What you repeatedly do forms the person you are. Let’s create new habits easy!
Global citizen is someone who is aware and understands the wider world and their place in it. They take active role in their community and work with others to make our planet more peaceful, sustainable and fairer. Today my boy participated in a beach clean up as the Week Without Walls Program at Gems World Academy. Big changes start with small steps. What are your small steps to being a better global citizen? #weekwithoutwalls #globalcitizen #beachcleanup #schoolproject #takecareoftheplanet #cleanafteryourself #marinepollution
How do you kick that 3 pm afternoon slump? Coffee? While we're is nothing wrong with a little caffeine in the morning, it is not the best option for an afternoon pick-me-up. What can we use instead of coffee to recharge when we are feeling sluggish? Try some energy-boosting herbal teas like ginger or some drink loaded with vitamin C. My recent discovery is a warm cranberry tea made from natural sugar-free cranberry juice and hot water. It has vitamins C and E and antioxidants to protect your body from cell damage due to free radicals, prevents from urinary tract infections and even can prevent the bacteria Helicobacter pylori (which might be responsible for stomach ulcers) from growing and multiplying. What is your 3 pm pick-me-up? #pickmeup #nocoffeeintheafternoon #cranberrydrink #afternoonteatime #helicobacterpylori #vitaminc
Downtime or giving your mind and body time to relax is the same important as being active. It allows reflecting, recharging and rejuvenation. Research on brain activity has provided us with number of proceses that rest can improve - adherence to daily habits, productivity, physical performance, attention, creativity, motivation. Downtime helps you to unwind on a physical and mental level. Try to schedule your downtime in your calendar like an appointment with yourself. It can be a walk outside or reading a book with a cup of tea, meditation or just counting birds in the sky. Or maybe cuddling your pet. So when is your next downtime appoint with yourself? #downtime #selfcare #mentalhealth #unwind #cuddlingtime #kidsphotography #relaxingtime #poodle #kamile #planning #makingplans #scheduling #appointment #izabelemygirl
How to get glowing skin? Well, you need to eat food rich in collagen. Consuming collagen-rich foods regularly results in higher skin elasticity levels and reduced lines and wrinkles’ appearance. Collagen isn’t only for smooth, elastic skin. It may also help with joint pain, muscles, or digestion. Collagen is gut healing too. An excellent option for getting large amounts of collagen is an oxtail. It is a collagen bomb and deserves the name of glowing skin superfood. This meal is a real collagen bomb. Therefore, it is a powerful skin superfood that has gut-healing powers too. High amounts of collagen help heal gut walls and are beneficial for people with a problematic gut.
