Once or twice a year, my husband, let’s call him Mr. S, and I escape on an adventure just for the two of us. We leave our kids in safe hands and break away for a few days, sometimes a week, to see new or beloved places, shop, eat, sleep, and simply enjoy being together. It’s our little love affair, a chance to fall in love with each other all over again. Every single day feels like a date, holding each other’s hands instead of our kids’. Every evening takes us somewhere that isn’t meant for kids, with food to remember and a reason to dress to impress. I love these romantic trips, and this Paris photo journal holds some of my favorite memories from one of them.
By the end of the school year, I was running on low batteries, and Mr. S could see that I needed a holiday more than ever. And just a couple of smartphone clicks later, a trip for the two of us was arranged. This time, it was Paris. What could be better than spending almost a week surrounded by art, beautiful architecture, inspiring interiors, culture, and gourmet food? It wasn’t our first time in Paris, but somehow the city still managed to surprise and inspire us.
This isn’t going to be a “things to do in Paris” post or another Paris itinerary. Instead, I want to share what caught my eye: the places, interiors, architecture, art, and little details that sparked my imagination and curiosity.
