My 3 buddies and I took an adventurous trip to New York City this spring. It was the first time in NYC for our kids and they fell in love with America’s most famous city.
As always, traveling with kids is totally different than adult only traveling – you are able to see a bit less, tend to spend a bit more time in the hotel room, go to not so fancy restaurants and have no chance to take part in that fabulous nightlife that New York City has to offer. But kids get huge benefits from being exposed to the culture and lifestyle that is different from their own. Trips with kids promote family bonding and create spectacular family memories. It is also a great opportunity to see the world through the eyes of your kids – you might be surprised by the things they notice and the questions they ask. Therefore, the benefits outweighed the loss. We had fantastic holidays full of discoveries and adventures.
As usual, we found New York full of taxis, commuters, tourists, overwhelming in its intensity and at the same time very vivid and exhilarating.
I would like to show you some episodes of the city that never sleeps through my camera lens.
Busy streets of NY – concrete jungle full of colors.
Intrepid sea, air and space museum complex – an American military and maritime history museum, a playground for big boys.
Beginning of April, the nature is just waking up in Central Park.
United Nations – an intergovernmental organization to promote international co-operation, peace and security.
One World Trade Center or Freedom Tower – the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the sixth tallest in the world. It looks like it blends with the sky camouflaging itself with clouds.

National September 11 Memorial and Museum located at the World Trade Center site, the former location of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed during September 11, 2001 attacks. The pools with waterfalls with victim names comprise the footprints on the Twin Towers, symbolizing the loss of life and the physical void left by the attacks. Very powerful and staggering place.
The visit to this memorial and museum was very intense and heart-rending. It was a very emotional experience.
There is no other country so obsessed with their flag than the United States of America. But I can admit it is a very nice and patriotic obsession that binds everybody together.
Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today.

These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
